"I’ve always hated being human. I wish I could become a mermaid. Or honestly, I would be happy to be any wild animal. An animal that only thinks of escaping when it’s trapped in a snare, even if it means tearing off its own leg. One that doesn’t think about waiting for the hunter to later kill them, like a person would. One that only cares about pure survival.
I wish I could become a mermaid and swim in the dark depths of the sea. My senses sharpen. On land, they die slowly, poisoned by a murderous consciousness. Every full moon I would go into the sea with a metal box and ask her to grant me my wish. But it never happened. At that young age, I understood the foolishness of wishing. I hate wishing, because it’s all I do."
